September is National Preparedness Month: Is Your Business Prepared for an Emergency?
The Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Government proclaimed September to be National Preparedness Month. The DHS wants to remind Americans to be ready now and throughout the year for any sort of emergency no matter its location—work, home, school or places we visit.
At Everlock Systems, we agree! We believe it is important to have a well-developed and prepared safety and security plan set in place. According to the Ready.gov website, here are some ways businesses can be prepared:
Planning:
- Gather information about hazards and assess risks
- Conduct a business impact analysis (BIA)
- Examine ways to prevent hazards and reduce risks
Write a preparedness plan addressing:
- Resource management
- Emergency response
- Crisis communications
- Business continuity
- Information technology
- Employee assistance
- Incident management
- Training
A great way you can participate in National Preparedness Month is by assessing risk to safety and security at your facility or site. Everlock Systems’ unique, patented, multi-lock systems are made in the United States and manufactured to provide superior safety and locking features.
