Everlock Systems Are Designed to Increase Access Control at Shared Access Facilities
No matter the industry, any large facility requires an access control system that runs properly and effectively. A locking system that is easy for personnel to use and easy for security managers to maintain is an essential part of site security for all facilities and properties. There are two very basic requirements: positive access for authorized users every time they need to enter or leave, and prevention of entry to any and all unknown or non-authorized users every time. Fortunately, Everlock Systems and their line of patented shared access locking systems is here to help properly secure your site.
The Client
Azimuth Forestry Company was in need of a locking system that was convenient but also durable. Because their properties are so expansive, there are numerous gates that need a sturdy and well-equipped locking system to protect the entire facility.
The Challenge
In the past, Azimuth Forestry Company had used the old “daisy chain” system of many padlocks from many site users locked together to close an access road or gate. Such systems can fail for multiple reasons, even with well-intentioned users. Failure comes in three forms:
- Daisy chaining padlocks is confusing to users and can result in authorized users locked out of the facility when locks are locked together or locks are bypassed by locking other locks together.
- Daisy chaining locks provides no means of preventing unauthorized locks from being added to the chain; site security owners have no means of knowing what lock is from an approved user and what lock is from someone who should be denied access to the site.
- Failure to lock any single lock results in the whole chain being ineffective and the security of that gate completely compromised. A security gate that is unlocked or left open is not secure at all.
The Solution
After realizing that the previous daisy chain of padlocks cannot provide secure shared access, the company eliminated daisy chains from certain gates in favor of products from Everlock Systems. The company purchased a number of our patented SLC-4 units to protect certain gates and access roads. This product is adaptable, as it can be used on any type of gate. The SLC-4 prevents inadvertent lockouts while preventing access by unwanted visitors or potential trespassers.
The Results
Azimuth Forestry Company has been very pleased with the products purchased from Everlock Systems. They know that this new locking system saves time, increases security by improving access control, and still allows for shared access to sites by contractors, service providers, and public agencies as needed.
